1:48 Scale, Airfix P-40B, “Tomahawk”
Terrific model, excellent build, and one I would recommend absolutely.
I used Tamiya acrylics, which is something I have not done in over twenty years. I also used Star Fighter Decals, which I am pleased to report, worked flawlessly.
Markings are for a P-40B, assigned to the 55th PS, 35th PG, Hamilton Field, California in December 1941.

Very well done early P-40 state side. Every one of these built so far have been excellent. Another great example here.
Moderate weathering perfect for the California environment of the day. Making a note to self. Need to pick up a couple of Airfix kits this upcoming year. Well done Frederick, thanks for sharing.

Definitely pick one up if you can, Chuck, she’s a winner!

Frederick, this build looks spot on. Airfix P-40 seems the best game in town and you brought it to full splendour. Tamiya acrylics are still a great option, all it needs is a proper dilution with Isopropyl and what we get are smooth and evenly coverage painted surfaces. I still used them a lot by airbrush but not brush.
BTW, I missed your Do 17 finished article and just saw it now… it’s a beauty also!

Very nice. I use lots of Tamiya but I’m slowly weaning my way onto Vallejo

Very nice work. I am sure the Airfix kit is better than the 50 some year old revell kit that I built a few times. Your model looks very crisp and clean, you did a fantastic job on it and the painting is perfect.

Thank you, John. I think we all have built the old Monogram/Revell kit a slew of times. In spite of it’s age though, it was the most accurate P-40B, shape wise, out there. Raised panel lines or not.

Nice result Freddie! I love the Airfix P-40B/C.

Thanks, Tom. I almost think it’s as good as the Hurricane. Many of the “New Tool” Airfix kits are very well done. I think I’m onto the Ju-87 next.
