Airfix 5120 1:48 Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4

October 4, 2018 · in Aviation · · 9 · 1.9K

My first 1:48 kit, it was an absolute joy to build, except for the canopy, which had an awful fit.
Parts also fitted very tight in some areas, so they had to be sanded to get a good fit.

I used the kit decals to make Adolf Galland´s Bf 109E-4, an aircraft I´ve always wanted to have in my collection.

  1. Very nice Francisco. I may have to get one or eight of these

  2. beautiful ...love those "Emils"

  3. The Emil is my favourite 109. Great work, Francisco. Nice clean build - and a great choice of pilot!

  4. Nice work, sir...really "looks the part".

  5. Francisco - That's a nice clean model of a well-known subject. Congratulations. I've recently started one of these and am pleasantly surprised how well the newer Airfix kits compare with benchmarks like Eduard and especially the older Airfix options. Well done! Paul

  6. I know that Mickey Mouse on the side. I bet the cockpit smells of cigar smoke from many missions in The Battle of Britain. Very nice build of Galland's ride!
