Diecast model aircraft 1/72 WWII
Hi!
Some years ago I did a collection of some very nice and very well done military aircraft from WWII, all nations involved included, on 1/72 scale.
They do have plastic bases and supports, and some are on fly mode, others as on land (these obviously I don't necessarily have to put them on their bases and supports).
They already came painted, all I had to do was glue some minor pieces, such as the wheels and the landing gear, or the bombs/drop tanks, or the antenna, that's about it if I remember it right.
Anyway, these are some beautifully made metal aircraft, so I guess it's ok sharing the pics.

Yes, it's a quite nice collection.
As I was up into the attic today, looking for parts for an automobile I'm building, and as I couldn't find them, I had to go through all the cardboxes in there, the "hospital box", and also all the other boxes, where in some of them this collection is... (sadly no place to put it here π ) .
I used to have them in a large display cabinet, some 10 years ago, but I don't have it anymore. So for now they remain in card boxes in the attic.
But seeing them reminded me that I do have these pics from when I was collecting them (not sure how many total exactly, but I think there were 50 of them), so it's like a "nostalic evening"... lol...

Cool...they ARE pretty nice-lookin'. I've got a few of those mahogany ones from the Phillipines (or wherever they're made) in a larger scale.

I didn't know these existed made of mahogany! That is a type of trees, hence wood, right?

Hey Adolfo! That IS a very nice collection! I'm happy to see you have saved them, even if they are "hiding" in your attic for now. That cabinet you used to have looks great. It's a great size for displaying treasures like you have.
Yes, mahogany is wood ... a very nice wood. Fine furniture and other nice things from that part of the world (the Far East) is often made of mahogany.
I've seen those airplanes like Craig has and they are usually pretty expensive, but they're worth the money. When you see a picture taken inside some aeronautical engineer or aircraft company's owner and there is an airplane on his desk, it's often made of mahogany or some other "premium" type of wood.

Sadly at least a couple of them I had to bring them down with me, for some minor repairs π Two Japanese and one Soviet (not yet shown, these should be the next ones, right after the Italian ones, as I'm posting them in alphabetical order, as they are on my computer π ) .
Yes, I know what mahogany is, but didn't know they made aircraft with it! Furniture, other wood made stuff, yes, but I didn't know they make aircraft too!

Lol... That's it π I mean, didn't count them, and I'm not sure I had already finished the entire collection when I took these pics (2005-2006). Maybe there are more, I'd have to check, as if not mistaken there were 50 total for the whole collection (which if not mistaken I did entirely) .

Can't remember now, but at one point I knew what was written as I asked some Russian friends. I know there are a few here on iModeler, maybe they could help with the translation π
I think on one of the sides on the "Rata" (the Polikarpov I-16), there is something like "For the Motherland".

Absolutely outstanding collection and I really appreciate you taking the time and effort to share it with us. A really amazing set of beautiful aircraft - truly impressive. I spent ages going though the photos, enjoying each one.
