TBF-1 Avenger 1:72

October 17, 2018 · in Aviation · · 10 · 2.4K

I bought this kit at a local arms fair. The box appeared very neat and new yet the kit was simply a rebox of an older kit. There was basically no detail for the interior(which is luckily hidden pretty well on the ). For what the kit lacked in detail it made up for in how well engineered it was. The kit fitted together amazingly. I am very happy with the result. I brushpainted the model and managed to get the decals very smooth across the surfaces. Let me know what you think!

  1. Expertly finished, sir...very well done indeed.

  2. I know the feeling about old kits 😉
And the surprise that they can be.
    Well done!

  3. Love the hand brushing and detail. Really nice work for a 1/72 bird.

  4. Well done, Matthew! Excellent job on the brush painting!

  5. The Avenger is such an iconic aircraft; like the Spitfire, it’s easy to become over familiar and not ‘see’ it. This is a lovely build with great attention to detail that shows a love for the subject - kudos, Matthew.

  6. Looks good! I love building old kits and bringing life to them. Some nice weathering on this.
