Eduard 1/48 Mig 21 Bis Soviet Air Force

Hi there,

My first attempt in the very tricky world of NMF. And perhaps my last one, at least for a while. This was a very unforgiving project. Every mistake you do, you’ll pay during painting. Every minor repair, after the paint job, always led to another repair being necessary.

Everything out of the box, except for the metal pitot tube.

Nevertheless, I’m satisfied after all. Pretty sure my next one, within a couple of years, will be better.

  1. It’s a great looking Mig, bare naked in a splendid NMF.
I like the used but not abused weathering you achieved here, very convincing.
It’s true that metal colours are a pain if you need some touch up repair, but with patience and care during assembly and a good primer, you can mitigate the risk of post paint repairs. Nao desista deste tipo de pintura, é sempre a que mais capta atenções,

  2. Thank you mate! Obrigado!!

  3. You should be well satisfied, looks great !

  4. George @george72, welcome to iModeler! First, I have not attempted a NMF yet. This looks fantastic. Very impressive. I agree with Pedro above, the weathering is spot on. Well done!

  5. One of my favorite aircraft, and very well done!

  6. That looks great, George! What paint did you use for the NMF?

  7. No need to apologize for that effort – the NMF and weathering looks great to me! Awesome model.

  8. A very nice job. Honestly I like this kind of weathering when you can almost feel all missions the jet had performed. Bravo 👍🏻
