  1. tremendous effort rob...i remember reading that during the retreat the french slept under the dead bodies to survive...that might cause some ptsd...then napoleon abandoned them

  2. Beautifully done. The detailing is exquisite. Well done, Rob!

  3. More than OK, Great work! You can feel the cold.

  4. As usual Rob, your figure work is outstanding. Don't know how you do it but I enjoy viewing your figure posts. Well done, it even gave me a chill looking at it.

    • Cheers, Tom. Not everyone’s cup of tea, I know.

About 70% of posts both here and elsewhere are aircraft, followed by military, etc. On a general modelling forum like iM, in terms of interest, Figures are near the bottom of the modelling pile, along with Space, LoL.

Figures are an occasional indulgence for me. I could post specifically at Planet Figure or other similar, where figures are ALL you see, and get a more subject-specific response, but for me it was just a month’s project, and one I had planned for a while, then move on to something else.

  5. Amazing work Rob !

I don't know how you guys can paint these figures so realistically. Yours look so lifelike !

    Well done my friend.

  6. "We've paid in hell since Moscow burned"...this vignette got me humming Mark Knopfler's "Done with Bonaparte". Well done, Rob!

    • Cheers, John. Since yesterday I touched-up the odd bits to finish, added a few more pieces of medium-length grass stubble and trimmed the edge of the snow effect where it lay over the plinth edge. The nameplate appears to be hel up in the Christmas post, but assume it will show up eventually.

  7. Rob, another "breath-taker!" Not only do you do such high-level work, you select really off-the-beaten-path subjects. It always makes for an exciting visit to your posts!
