With the emphasis on the title of the article, one might think this kit was the biggest pain in the rear to ever be made, this really isn't the case. As mentioned in the previous posts, the only real issues with the kit was the bomb bay being to big for the fuselage to come together cleanly, decent sized seams that needed filling along the top of fuselage and near the tail, as well as the tail gunners station not fitting properly. As for directions, it is a conglomerate of 10 steps in one so the builder must make sure he/she doesn't miss a step in the hustle and bustle of trying to finish the kit quickly, and again, they only printed directions for the "Memphis Belle" build so if you are looking for the "Miss Ouachita" as I did, the internet will be your friend in terms of placement of extra .50's, paint scheme, etc. I would recommend this to any of my modeling friends and with some patience it comes out looking pretty decent. Please leave comments or recommendations in the reply section, as any and all advice or constructive criticism will only make me a better modeler. Next up is the Revell MV-22 Osprey. Happy Building all and here's to a great week!

  1. Nice build, Dylan. In terms of your next project, I’ve been tempted to tackle an Osprey for some time. Simply awesome looking aircraft that is controversial, hated, and revered in equal measures - a great subject for iModeler and I hope you do us a work in progress.

  2. Looks great! Well done!

  3. Nice looking Fortress! It'll be great to see the Osprey build.

  4. Good looking Fortress! I've got the 1/72 Hobby Craft Osprey to attempt at some point...

  5. VERY well done, Dylan!
