1/48 SAAF F86 Sabres in Korea
Here are my two models of the F86 Sabres as used ny No2 ‘Flying Cheetahs’ Sqn, SAAF in Korea.
1/48 ESCI kit – done as aircraft No 611 ‘Danny Boy’ with slatted wings and 1/48 Academy kit – done as aircraft No 622 ‘Lady of Lorette’ with wing fences
Note: 622 still carried the USAF serial on the tail and no ‘flying cheetah’ badges.
I had originally named 611 ‘Unjust Bruno’, but the name decals got damaged on a respray, so name changed.
Decals are aftermarket from MAV decals.

It is great to see so many SAAF aircraft being built, a subject not seen very often, Great builds Phillip, really enjoying your posts, keep them coming.

Marc. I have built all the aircraft used by the Rhodesian Air Force which are now in a museum as well as most of the aircraft used by the SAAF from Korea to 1990. All 1/48 barring my Transall which is 1/72.

Great Sabre’s. I’ve always loved this jet, but have never built one. You’ve now inspired me.
