Trumpeter 1/144 scale Astute class submarine

February 28, 2019 · in Ships · · 10 · 6.9K

I went and done it I bought a plastic kit.Less than 30 parts, to this 26 inch long sub. Putting the two hull halves together took a lot of pressure. Brush painted it which helps to make it look more realistic. Happy with the result.

  1. Looks to be pretty good size for such a "small" scale...and nicely finished, too.

  2. Well done Derek, and welcome to the dark side.

  3. Awesome paint detail! Very nice!

  4. Brush painted? Wow! Excellent result!

  5. As a passionate 1/144 builder, I am also in submarines of that scale. Great to see one of these simple (in terms of part count) but large kits finished. I try to use brushes whenever I can but not on such large surfaces. What colors did you use - enamels or acrylics? Did you seal your paint work with a clear varnish afterwards?
