1/48 Loire-Nieuport 40, “French Stuka”

March 15, 2019 · in Aviation · · 7 · 2.3K

kit of the LN 40 from Flight training School at St.Raphael summer 1942. The French designer of this aircraft, M. Pillon, actually faced charges by the Germans that his work was based on the Ju-87 by espionage. There are two major problems with this kit that need correction. The shape of the cockpit opening is rectangular and should be oval and the canopy hood is grossly undersized. Correcting the canopy opening is easy the canopy hood is a little more difficult. My old Mattel vac-form machine came in handy once again! Vichy, wing and rudder stripes masked and painted.
