Boeing 737 – 400, Czechoslovak airlines, OK – WGG, Skyline Models, 1/144

March 29, 2019 · in Aviation · · 5 · 1.8K

Czechoslovak Airlines. After the split of Czechoslovakia, Czech Airlines was established with a base at Václav Havel Airport in Prague. In 1991, Czechoslovak Airlines began to renew its fleet. New -400 were put into operation. The aircraft has OK - WGG registration and was named after the Czech city of Liberec.

I used a kit from Models (DACO Products) for the construction. It's the best kit on the market. Skyline models is the only one to produce Boeing 737 Classic aircraft (- 300, - 400, - 500). Construction kit parts are very accurate. No major adjustments required. Parts contain many details. The kit also includes winglets. It is possible to build upgraded versions of Boeing 737 - 300 and - 500.

I used decals from Czech manufacturer B.O.A. Decals. I had big problems with decal application. Decal dimensions are not accurate. Although the manufacturer recommends decals for the Skyline Models kit. The big problem is tearing the decals. I had to do a lot of repairs. Unfortunately, this is also visible in the model. I hope you enjoy the model.

  1. Beautiful work, Ivan, don't see many airliners.

I have to add that the classic 737's also include the -100 and -200 series, both of which I have worked on, as well as the -300. But my airplane is the Boeing 727, which really needs to be represented with a decent, affordable kit.

  2. You certainly have a knack for churning out nice lookin' airliner builds, sir. 🙂

  3. Another fine 737 Ivan, well done.

  4. A great looking 737!

  5. Very nice and realistic finish!
