New kit, new ipad

March 3, 2019 · in Automotive · 8 · 1.7K

Ok, so I started my Silhouette and am trying out pictures and posting with my new iPad. So far just the engine, brush painted with testors GM engine red. I was surprised how well it brush painted. Chrome was touched up with a Molotow chrome pen.

  1. The pictures look great ! Looks like you're on to something here... 🙂

  2. It’s a bit odd to use yet. I got the iPad Pro 12.9” and, well my MacBook was 10 years old so maybe I’m just behind in technology! It sure seems to be a powerful tool if I can harness it for good...not evil HA!

  3. Memories of old Rob, but good ones. Looking forward to the build of an iconic Hot Wheels car. I had a purple one as well. Along with the Splittin image playing in the dirt in the backyard.

  4. Mmmm... Maltow chrome pen- unknown to me. WOW CHROME! That is bloody gorgeous. Must get me hands on one.

  5. Hi Rob, your pictures always look so inviting and get me in the mood for starting modelling right now. Thanks for that!

  6. Sweet! And like Stan, I’ll be looking for a Molotow chrome pen.

  7. The pens are really great. They cover up where you have cut the part off the sprue and also where you have cleaned up seam lines. I have re-chromed some small parts with them, they come very close to matching the surrounding chrome. The dual air cleaners on the engine had large areas on the side damaged during clean up. As you can see in the pictures the damage has all but disappeared! I have two sizes, one for larger areas and a fine tip one for small spots. One note though the stuff takes forever to dry, I mean overnight forever!
