2001 Corvette Z06

April 11, 2019 · in Automotive · · 5 · 1.4K

My most recent Automotive Build was the 2001 Z06.

This kit was almost tossed away in the trash bin, as when I first bought it, I attempted to brush paint it in Metallic Blue Sapphire, which was a disaster to say the least. Then I learned about the DOT3 Brake fluid bath to remove enamel paint harmlessly. I thought, well, let's give it a try. All I can say about the bath? Well, I'll let the photos do the talking, but the length of time spent soaking in the brake fluid did not negatively effect the (Polystyrene) plastic whatsoever.

I did make sure to completely wash the parts free of brake fluid using dish soap & fairly warm water.

Results were very pleasing.
