IPMS Dayton Wright Flyers Annual Show

April 7, 2019 · in Show Reports · · 11 · 1.9K

Spent a great Saturday at Dayton's annual show. Lots of vendors with some great deals and a total of 623 models on display. Below are just a sample of the quality of models that were on the tables. Bonus was talking to iModelers, Rick Wilkes, Al Hoffman, Jim Harley and Tim Melick. Added bonus was my Bronze Award for the old Tamiya 1/48 A6M-2 Zero which I entered in the OOB Category for all scales. Nice job Dayton for putting on a fine show.

  2. I particularly like that U-boat. A lot of imagination, creativity and talent there. My candidate for Best of Show.

  4. Thanks for sharing, Tom. Nice job on the Zero. Very nice work all around but I'll have to say that the U-boat stands out as my favorite too.

  5. What a surprise I got, it’s my first time on iModeler and what do I see but my Thunderbird! It sure was a great show. Tons of really cool models and displays. Took a few pics myself. One of my favorites was the 40 Willies doing a burnout from the box it came in(pic 21 top right). Congrats on your award, thats a sweet Zero!

  6. Great show and great to meet everyone. Congrats on the Zero...I thought sure the P-40 would pick an award. Perfect day! some more photos to compliment Tom's post 🙂
