J35 Draken 1/144 (F-Toys + Shelf Oddity)

April 17, 2019 · in Aviation · · 7 · 2.4K

This is gashapon kit, stripped of the paint and repainted using Vallejo and Hataka Blue Line paints. It also served as test article for prototyping the PE set (see stuff).

F-Toys kits are absolute gems. I've seen many of them and still wonder why are they treated as such underdogs. High quality, wide range of subjects (who else does F-100, F-105, F-106, F-35, all the japanese IIWW air force, properly shaped MiG-29...?) , ease of construction, good price... About the only weak point of those kits are the canopies - an issue easily rectified by growing selection of Hauler - Brengun vac transparencies.

  1. Unique paint scheme...I like it. If you've done those Century series a/c, I'd love to see 'em. 🙂

  2. amazing paint

  3. Outstanding paint job in this scale!

  4. Excellent paint work.

  5. How did you strip the paint? I tried „the usual subjects“ but failed...

    • Hi Thomas. I used Wamod acrylic paint stripper. It worked well on this one, however on other F-Toys - MiG-17 the effects was patchy. I also tried Gunze Leveling Thinner, but with dissapointing effect. The CA glue dissolver/debonder is yet another option but I am yet to test it.
