Another 109 to try my teeth on were yet another Eduard 1/48 kit. (the one in the background will be added later, as it was built a bit later, and more detail added)
Starting with Eduards fine cockpit with the etch from the "Mersu" double kit. Lots of nice add-ons included in that one.
Sorry - not many pictures during the build, so here you have the nearly finished cockpit. Masking by Tamiyatape and sharp blade.
Just for the fun of it, I decided to make the filter hollow to get some through-light effect with the etch sides on. Possibly not too realistic, but done a few of those all the same. Takes some time to drill and cut out though, and really good practise for a novice. The decal was added after the filter, proving to be a really bad decision - never to be repeated!
As I said, nothing munch in the form of progress pictures, but at least one here near the goal..
And to round things off - one more in the sunshine. A mix of Tamiya and Humbrol were used and finished off with Tamiya matt. The initial coat of RLM74 was by Humbrol, but that was way off to my eye, and so a Tamiya was used instead. The brilliant Uschi van der Rosten thread once again used for antenna wire.
Very nice! Some fine detail work - such as the filter.
