Airfix 1/24 North American P-51D

June 14, 2019 · in Aviation · 6 · 2.7K

Welcome back. In this article, I would like to show my third model in the 1/24 scale. This time it is the P-51 Mustang in the colors 375th FG with 8AF stationed in the summer of 1944 in England. At that time, 1 / Lt James Sloan was flying this airplane. The model itself is an old Airfix from the 70s. Despite its relative simplicity, it required over 80 hours of work and a lot of putty. Mustang enriched with belts from Eduard. The marking was painted using Montex masks. I painted it with acrylic Tamiya and AK-Interactive. Nice watch.

  1. Outstanding, Wirgiliusz! While it all looks great, I noticed a tiny detail that looks perfect ... the fuel-spill stains on the wings and tanks. It looks REAL!
    Bravo!
