Airfix Bf-109E1 (converted from E3 kit)

June 28, 2019 · in Aviation · · 15 · 2K

Hello, This is another Emil from my workbench. I converted a E3 to an E1 by removing the ammo bulges under the wings and recessing new hatches. The canopy is from spare parts, cause is providing the E4 - E7 canopy only. The decals are from AVALON No#7003 "Early Emils" The yello 12 is from 6/JG 26, Summer 1939 with white tail and wing tipps. Camo scheme is the standard RLM 70/71/65. I used AK "real colors" with AK Thinner and an "noname" china airbrush. The Pilot figure in front is in 1/48 scale, but looks nice in this scene in my opinion. Thank you for watching and happy modelling.

  2. good looking scheme and model

  3. Thank you guys!

  4. That mix of the backdating pilot and the Emil really pumps the scene. Another excellent build Andreas!
I have several Real Color jars but not the 70/71 shades, gotta say they look spot on

  5. Thank you Pedro!

  6. That’s a great model, Andreas! I’ve never seen that scheme before with the white tail. Was this an exercise marking?

  7. Beautiful as always! Great scheme too.

  8. Yep...what they said ! 🙂

  9. Most excellent, Andreas! The darker early war camo with white "tips" is very striking!

Also, your photography - both B&W & Colour, is outstanding. Using the 1/48th scale figure in the foreground of the scene looks perfect.

    Bravo, my man!

  10. Thank you guys, allways a pleasure for me

  11. Really nice result here. Great work!

  12. Great looking conversion and photography. I think the rounded canopy on the E-1 gives it a really nice look compared to the angular canopy on the later models. Nicely done.

  13. Thank you all!
