BF 110 E in progress

July 17, 2019 · in Aviation · · 2 · 1.6K

The camo on this 110 will be black bottom and dark green RLM 72 on top side.

I wanted to see if I could attack a uniform black belly side and Dark green top side from a different angel with a realistic . I am not a big fan of pre and post shading, I find it not to so realistic, does not mean I don't like it, I use from time to time, but to me it looks more like how painters simulate weathering, just take a look at some of your kit covers.

I'm trying out some new technics on this model. Instead of the usual blackbasing I've primed the model gray (Stynelrez) and marbled with light gray (MRP). The belly side was then marbled again with black (Tamiya) and finally several misted coats of Nato black (tamiya). The top side is given a second marble of RLM 02 before putting on the final layer of RLM 72. Somehow I will try to weather down the top colour with a mix of chipping and careful sanding. To be continued...
