Italeri Junkers 87 B-2 Stuka

September 1, 2019 · in Aviation · · 8 · 2K

Hello, in this article I would like to show galery of my Junkers 87 B-2 . I come from Wieluń town in Poland and this town was bombarded 3 times on 1 September 1939 by these dive bombers. There were 3 seperate raid at exact times: 4:40, 6:08 and 9:10 local time. So you could say that II World War began in my city. About 1200 civilians lost their lives, hospital with marked red cross at roof was bombarded. That were very bad times but I don't blame anybody now. That should never happen again.

The model was from 1:48 Nr. 2690 kit. I worked on it very slowly from April 2019 taking time. I tried to make a worned look and hope it look something like that. I like Jumo 211 engine, black dog in red circle and overall look, although some would say Stuka is ugly. But I like german design (BMW, VW, architecture and so on). Very neat and practical. That's it from me. How do you like the model? I hope you enjoy. Your Martin from Wieluń.

  1. That's a first class '87', Martin. I have made this kit as well, and it's a nice build. You've really captured the well-worn look. Well done.

    Regards,

    Paul

  3. Nice work. This looks very realistic.

You're right that the Second World War began in your town. Welun was the first town hit.

  5. First - thank you for reminding us of the importance of this date! Never again!

That aside - it is a very well done model you have there! Congrats on the result.
