M-113A2

September 1, 2019 · in Diorama · 4 · 1.5K

Hi, here is my 1/35 M-113A2 from Tamiya. It was a fun build with some problems, one being that there was no interior which was quite a disappointment. the model came with two figures and a sprue full of accessories. I heard in another review that the tracks were incorrect (but i don't know for sure) so I chose to put the model on a diorama set in Iraq around 2003. I scratch built the road blocks, cone and stop sign, road signs, trash and scrap metal. The signs were made from real life signs printed off the internet and plastic rods. The road blocks were made of card stock and covered in Spackle. The model was painted with Vallejo paints and weathered with pastels. The metallic parts were painted with Model Masters paints. The tire is a spare from an old M-1025 my dad donated to e from his spares box. The trash in the barrel and in between the two roadblocks was made from paper cut to size. The water bottles were made from clear sprue.

  1. That's a nice build and a good diorama. Well done. It's nice to see the Tamiya kits include the smoke grenade launchers as the Academy ones do not.
