Two shiny "little friends": here comes the second one.

September 2, 2019 · in Aviation · · 17 · 2K

I did chose to build a Mk. III, the decals have been taken from the kit.
I hope you like the outcome and the pictures!

  1. Very nice Roland!

  2. Nice! Looks great with the Malcolm hood.

  3. Also a dandy. I’ll bet they look great side-by-side.

  4. Both builds are great. I like the subtleness of the weathered metal finish.

  5. Great presentation, sir...love it.

  6. just beautiful

  7. Dear mates, thank you for these kind comments!

  8. 🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
Very nice clean looking builds ( Two shiny “little friends”: here is the first one. ) Roland.

  9. Very nice work here Roland.

One thing for future reference for all who build this kit, a little-known fact I only became aware of a year ago or so after "doing it incorrectly" for 25 years since this kit came out: the Malcolm Hood is just clear plastic, no framing. Once you know it, it's easy to see in close-up photos, but also easily mistaken with light reflecting on it in the photo.

  10. Thank you mates for these friendly remarks!
Tom, that is a very informative hint you gave on the Malcolm hood! I have found confirmative and clarifying pictures of the real thing in the net- I will take account of that on my recent build of Trumpeters Mustang Mk.III

  11. Well done Roland. Makes a great stablemate to your P-51B.

  12. That's another beauty - both those Mustangs are very eye-catching! Well done.

  13. Thank you for both comments and kind words!

  14. Looks quite spiffy in that livery, beautiful indeed.

  15. @rosachsenhofer great metal finish! And polish accent 🙂
