1/72 Trumpeter M1A1 Mine Cleaning Tank

November 25, 2019 · in Armor · · 1 · 1.1K

After I built my Patton tank in 1998 I continued to build more of armor models. Here's another one that I built in February, 2016.

The real tank had what they called a "Blade Cleaning System " attached to the front of the big tank. I never seen a real one, so I assume it did its' job out on the battlefield.

Like most of all my armor, it was built o.o.b. The bottom of the tracks were painted with my steel paint while the top side was given another color of paint. The kit decals were also applied and Future, plus a dull coat was added. My "sandstone" base came from our back yard out in the Colorado desert.

You will note that I attach some hard foam to the bottom of the base, which allows me to put my finger's under the base and move it all over the place. The model was glued to the base with ordinary household white glue.

Enjoy! RJW

  1. I forgot to add the side view photo showing the foam on the bottom of the base.
