Arma Hobby 1/72 PZL TS-11 bis DF “Iskra”

November 4, 2019 · in Aviation · · 15 · 2.5K

This kit was a very pleasant surprise... The first kit from a small manufacturer normally sets off all the warning-alarms for me, but this was the "Expert set" boxing with photoetch, painting mask set and technical stencils included in the kit. So I decided to have a go at it.
Sure, it has some fit issues and strange engineering solutions in some places but in general the build was troublefree and very enjoyable.

I added turned pitot-tubes from Master, external photoetch set and resin wheels to spice up the kit even more.

The "" (means Spark) is a Polish Trainer and Light attack aircraft, that has been in service for over 50 years in the Polish Airforce.

  1. Very nice! The Iskra is probably the cheapest way into the jet warbird club. Small, simple and single engine! The cockpit looks great in yours. Had you not mentioned the scale I would've guessed 1/48 for all the detail in there! (I'm really impressed by the intake covers because I have a pretty good idea how small they are!) The finish also looks typical of the ones I have seen at Oshkosh. Fantastic job on this Tommy!

  2. Until you put it next to the paint jar, you could have convinced me this was 1/48. Great detail for a 1/72 kit, and a beautiful result.

  3. Great concept Tommy, well executed. Nice to see a Polish jet too! Thanks for sharing with us.

  4. Nice work. I wish they’d do that one in 1/48.

  5. Excellent work, that's a lot of detail crammed into such a small model.

  6. I am in the middle of building PZL p 11c from this manufacturer and I have a very good feeling about this manufacturer kit.
BTW. Very nice WORK of yours. Good job mate:)

  7. That's a real beauty! I have the Mastercraft kit of this in 1/72, and was thinking the camo scheme shown on the box but I love your NMF rendition of this - it really pops. I think I'll use yours as a build guide instead.
