Bat Project’s He114

November 2, 2019 · in Aviation · · 12 · 2K

Hi, folks...

My next offering is a recent release from the Ukrainian company, Bat Project. It's a limited-run kit, with three different variants, 200 per version. The pre-war version has alternative Spanish markings, the wartime Luftwaffe version has alternative Romanian markings and a Romanian-specific kit with alternative Swedish markings. A little pricey at £45 per kit, but rather a nice end result if you take time and patience. It has its issues, but generally, there is very nice engraved detail throughout, a clean canopy if a little thick and a nice touch with the included beaching trolley.

There are a few additional photos and comments here - https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/hyperscale/batman-batmobile-bat-project-t509932.html#p2686707.

The kit is finished in the markings of Luftnachrichtenschule 6 (See), based at Dievenow, Pomerania, between 1940-42. Markings are from my spares box. Hope you like the finished article.

Regards,

Paul

  1. Thanks for sharing this. Great job on something I never thought we’d see in 1/48.

  2. Very cool, love the lesser known types. Great work on a rough kit. I'd love one of these in 1/48.

  3. John, Dale... thanks for your comments. Just a small correction, though... it's a 1/72 scale kit... ;-).

    Regards,

    Paul

  4. A cool looking seaplane, nice work!

  5. Thanks, Robert... ;-).

  6. That's one I never thought I'd see a kit of. Very nice result!

  7. Thank you, Tom... yes, nice to see something a little out of the ordinary.

  8. Looks really good Paul (and right up my street- obscure subject and 1/72 scale). Can't have been easy to get everything properly aligned.

  9. Hi, Mike... thanks for your comments.

I can assure you the elasticated thread used for the rigging was the most difficult part... my poor eyes! Happy with the outcome, though.

    Regards,

    Paul

  10. Excellent! I saw a picture of one of these and wanted to find a kit in 1/72. Was this a resin or plastic kit?

  11. Hi, Greg...

Thanks for your comment. This is an injection-moulded kit, challenging in places but I think it's worth the effort.
