Airfix Vampire

January 23, 2020 · in Aviation · · 9 · 2.5K

From a few years ago here's my De Havilland T. 11. At the time I made this one I had done a couple of the “new Airfix” kits and was very much enjoying them. I picked this one up as an impulse buy and found it to be another enjoyable project.

  1. Looks good Scott, nice clean finish, well done, I've built one of these with a few more to do !

  2. Sharp! What paints did you use?

  3. Nicely done! I like the high visibility scheme.

  4. I've painted that same kit last year, but in diferent colors 🙂
although I got it already built (just for paint), I agree that one seems an enjoyable weekend project. Now that I've seen yours, I think I'll definitly build another one for myself 🙂

  5. Looks nice in trainer colors. I have 3 Vampires standing by for various S. American livery.

  6. A real Jewel of a kit,painted to perfection.

I've been watching Youtube shorts of the Reno air races and in the jet category they have entered a Vampire trainer going up against L-39's and it won. Food for thought and another build.

    Two thumbs up Scott.
