My father hasn´t built one but two of the new G-6/AS at once.
Like with the JG27 scheme also this was built oob. Added antenna wire with EZ Line and fishing line, brake lines with plastic rods and lead wire. Painted with with Tamiya X-18 Black.

The model shows an aircraft of 2./EJG2 in December 1944 in the Hagenow area.
Ergänzungsnachtjagdstaffel was established on March 9th, 1944 in Ludwigslust and its task was the operational training of the single-engine night fighter pilots who were afterwards destined for JG 300, JG 301, JG 302 and later for NJG 10 and NJG 11. In the end of July the Staffel was enlarged to the Gruppe size (EJGr. 2), in the beginning of November the name was changed to EJG 2. In the meantime the relocation to the Hagenow airport took place. In October the unit received Messerschmitts Bf 109G-6/AS and G-14/AS with which the instructors were to fly the night sorties against British Mosquitoes. Contrary to the training aircraft which carried the markings of the particular Staffel (1. Staffel white, 2. Staffel red, 3. Staffel yellow, 4. Staffel blue) these combat machines were marked with the numerals in green color.

  1. Wow! That’s a 109 that stands out. My knowledge of Luftwaffe stuff is a bit limited but isn’t green the color for staff flights? It would make sense in this case.

  2. Nice! looks great in this scheme.

  3. Fantastic looking 109 ! You typically don't see them painted like this. I have an Emil in similar markings, but I don't recall ever seeing a later Gustav wearing these colors.

    Well done my friend.
