Desert Storm…Hasegawa 1/48 McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II, VMA-231 USMC
Built in 2018.
Another of my dad´s excursions to the modern world.
Hasegawa kit, not one of their best, some fit issues, steps and gaps.
Bought the kit second hand from a fellow modeller, sadly the decals weren´t really usable anymore so my father used an Eagle Strike sheet. Decals for the canopy detonation cord are from a TwoBobs sheet. Seat is from Quickboost, Snakeeyes from a Hasegawa weapon set, the kit includes only drop tanks and Sidewinders. Camo done with Gunze H307 FS36320 and H337 FS35237.

Another beauty Reinhard – always good to see a loaded Harrier!

Nice work Reinhard! I’m pretty sure that kit wasn’t designed by Hasegawa. I think they purchased the molds or masters from another company that went out of business.

Another amazing post !!!! The “jump jet” you just posted looks about as real as you can get. Well done my friend.

Hello Reinhard,
Excellent representation of this important asset during “Desert Storm”.
Not a plane to be commanded by rookies, but in the experienced hands a deadly messenger.
Regards, Dirk / The Netherlands.
