Fujimi 1/24 scale Porsche 356A

February 1, 2020 · in Automotive · · 6 · 5.1K

This build was for a 356A owner and I had direct access to the actual car. This kit was decent but not great. Very poor instructions, lots of weird parts that seemed to be for another kit, brittle plastic and confusing build sequences. To my surprise there are very few 356 kits out there with any detail. Much of this kit needed to be reengineered or scratch built to get it to where I needed it to be.

In the end I am pretty happy with the outcome and the customer was thrilled, which makes it all worth it!

  1. Another masterpiece!

  2. It was a lot of work to get it that way lol

  3. Looking all all your posts, I thought I'd just comment once. You are obviously an excellent craftsman with eclectic tastes - all your builds look fantastic! Nice eye for detail, and you have a good knack for carrying through to completion what you seem to see in your mind's eye for each project. Great work!

  4. Wow Greg thank you! I just love building and trying to capture the essence of the real thing. I try to focus on one part or assembly at a time and making it the best I can. I am constantly trying to improve and invent new techniques.

  5. Hi. Have just finished this model that I started in 1984! I got to the stage with it where I had done lots of work but then discovered that some bits were just a bit too strange - it nearly went in the bin! However, I found it recently in the back of the wardrobe and decided to have another go. I now have a box of bits that were either for another model or were just badly engineered and had to be left out. The detail is great but not clearly thought out. I love your model, especially the interior re: seats and carpets. I may stick to Tamiya in future!
