German WW2 Panzer Field Maintenance Unit

February 26, 2020 · in Diorama · · 12 · 2.9K

This diorama represents a German field maintenance unit for their armour and is based on the kits of the Stratobahn 16 ton mobile crane and a late version Panther tank. The set dressing is from a mixed bunch of Tamiya and Miniart accessory kits supplemented with my own design 3d printed crates and boxes. The figures are from M&B. It has taken about 5 months to build.

  1. Sir, you did a damn good job

  2. Lots of nice detail you crammed into this dio! Very nice.

  3. Very nice, the Strabokran is huuuge but adds to the action here. Nice concept on the track pulling!

  4. That is one massive build.
    Great work!
    Did you clearcoat everything?

    • Thank you. Yes, each element was given a coat of matte varnish including the groundwork although the harshness of the flash seems to make everything look too glossy!

  5. I always wanted to build these! Until the website I bought it off was reported to be fake. Thank god Paypal reimbursed me for it. If this happens one has to try to talk to a paypal representative with all info. Otherwise you pay for the fraud.
Since you built this I can enjoy your beautiful Work vicariously.

  6. 🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
I just logged in after the long electrical power failures here after hurricanes Irma and Maria, and WOW ! Very nice work on that diorama Derek. Lot's of details and the attention given to them. This is a very welcomed image after a time off this forum, thank you.

    • Hi!
We Brit's complain about our weather but seeing what you've had to put up with we really don't have anything to complain about.
Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad you like it, I had a lot of fun putting it all together!
