1/25th Scale Monogram 1931 Ford Model A

March 24, 2020 · in Automotive · · 2 · 1.9K

I bought this car 'cause the real one's were produced by the Ford Motor Company during the year of my birth.

This model kit had next to no flashing, but they had a couple of punch mark's on some of the parts. In fact if you pay attention to the photo's you will see that I forgot to sand off a couple of them.

Notice how I use the aluminum and steel blocks to help aline the 4 wheels. Then notice the photo of the foot pedals that show some weathering. I just brushed on some of my "SnJ Spray Metal" polishing powder. Usually those pedals were just steel with no covering, thus, the black paint would ware off. Later on in years Ford added a rubber coating. Paint was by .
I made a styrofoam base for it and added some of my Colorado desert dirt and gravel, and added a little writing on stick on label "California Here I Come."
