1/35 Das Werk Panther A late

March 30, 2020 · in Armor · 12 · 2.7K

Well, here I’m straight from Pandemic, straight from Serbia… Thank God that we are doing well and good with this menace. in fact, I really don’t know what to think. Medias are saying one, politicians, other, doctors are saying third, but ratio say completely different from any other before… Just be positive and get through these hard times. I hope that this post will all of You great people in good health and condition!

I decided to do tank/panzer after some time. I’ve been doing planes for some time, and it was time to rest. I received this Das Werk Panther A late 2 in 1 (without any interior, and prepacked from Takom) some 5 or 6 months before. I was very happy, but I had to order zimmerit, from which I was frightened. I have never before delt with zimmerit add on… I ordered Das Werk/Attak zimmerit and I took one spare Tamiya figure which I received from one excellent man, modeller and friend Milan Tank Krusic (I salute You my friend) from Slovenia!

I don’t want to write anythink about Panther… except THE BEAST! I was whole time listening Uriah Heep’s “Salisbury” album and Marduk’s “Panzer division Marduk” record, strange combination…

The model, parts, decals, zimmerit… I don’t have words in my vocabulary to describe the incredibility of this kit! I didn’t find any problem with kit, EVERYTHING went so good that it was a little bit odd and strange! Every single part was excellent in any way… From details, coming together with other parts… Tracks are molded excellent and the process of putting them together is so easy that I didn’t brake anything on them during the build, painting and weathering! Zimmerit is so easy to glue with CA glue that I was really satisfied!

I made some modifications on cupola, hatches, hinges and connecting rods for spare links…

I painted whole model with acrylics and weatherd it with AK effects, than I used Abteilung 502 oils and Vallejo pigments. Pictures are maybe to bright but I ran out of battery on my Canon and I didn’t want to make another photo session (lazy man). Figure is lightly weathered, just for purpose of showing the siye of this incredible Panzer.

I can only say that this model is higlhy recommended for modellers with experience from level 0 to level PRO. For juniors this is maybe a little bit challenging because of part counts, but its simplicity and greatnest in details is incredible. For pros it can be very relaxing to do.

Stay health, stay good and I hope that this menace will be soon over!

  2. Looks absolutely great Djordje! Thank you for your inspiring and supporting words. It all seems a bit cloudy now, but it all WILL PASS. Let all this teach us some lessons and become better persons.
    Thanks for sharing!
    All the best!

    • Ευχαριστώ Spiros ?
I’ve been learning Greek during theology studies, but I will not gamble to make some errors ?
I hope that in Greece is good, I hope that God will provide us with strenght to see the end of this.

      • Great that you speak Greek, Djorje! - I feel proud! Here in Greece so far is not bad, but the worst might be very well in front of us. So the best is to take ultra care and pray to God. He has His plans and I'm sure we will prevail!
        All the best, my friend!

  3. Das Werk is the story of a wholesaler becoming kit publisher. I read a lot of good things about this new brand. They dare to do the other thing, like their Faun heavy transporter and recently also tanks like this one. I remember bashing a Dragon kit for a Panther A years ago. There was no Zimm in the kit and "A"s had it so I opted for a milliput layer hand formed. Applying the Zimm took me longer than building the kit itself leave finding out what the best Zimm application technique was on the WWW.

You did a fine job here with this Panther A, very much liked!

  4. This is a fantastic build ! I like everything about it, and you did a wonderful job with it. The tile pattern zimmerit especially looks very good.

The Panther is my favorite all time tank... ever. I was an armor crewman in real life, having served in the M-60 series and M-1A1's.

I have a few Panthers built, and many more in the stash. I used a product called Zimmit rite on my German armor builds. It's a putty you apply, then you sculpt it using the various trowels to replicate the zimmerit pattern you want. Going from memory they used 5 different patterns on the Panther. (The Stug III had a cool looking "waffle" style pattern but that's another subject).

Thanks for sharing this beauty of a tank with us. Well done my friend, and I too pressed the "liked" button.

Stay safe and this virus thing will eventually pass. Building models is the perfect way to spend your time at home. Prayers to God are always a good idea.

    • If I'm right this is Daimler Beny pattern 🙂
I was always amazed by zimmerit and by the fact that Germans made zimmerit to fight against magnetic mines, and if I'm right, they were the only one to use them against Allies 🙂
Stay safe and in good health. I hope that God will hlep us to overcome this.

  5. Aleksandar Vucic is much better than those European leaders.

  6. Looks great! Well done.
