1/72 scale M4A3E8 Sherman tank "Korean War" winter 1951

April 28, 2020 · in Armor · · 6 · 2.5K

Greetings all ,

This is a 1/72 scale vignette of the armor M4A3E8 Korean War depicting it in the winter in 1951 before the UN forces major push against communist forces to the north regions of Korea. The Trumpeter kit was easy to assemble no major issues in in terms of engineering. The base of diorama is made using sandwich board and clay for terrain. The final snow layer is added using AK's snow microballoons which was easy and effective. Overall, its my first attempt in making a winter themed diorama its up to the viewers to judge the results.

  1. Excellent looking diorama with a "Snow" scene. You could pick up your model and set it down a couple of times in the snow then put it back to its' "original" location. This will show tread track in the snow showing where the tank came from. I have done this with airplanes on skis and with a couple of armor models. My snow came from the hobby shop and it went on my bases real easy. Try it out! Rodney.
