"Forward To Destiny"

Hi All,
Finally the, “On That Day”, second posting of the completed T26E3 Pershing, Clarence Smoyer diorama. Titled; “Forward To Destiny”
The diorama scene:
Cobblestone street and stone sidewalk are created from foam board and painted with a combination of Woodland Scenic Earth colors and Vallejo paints.
Destroyed building was created with plaster-of-paris as the stone and concrete painted Woodland Scenic Earth colors paints and bits of shredded burned wood.
The fence is wire bent into shape and the lamp post is bits of styrene and foam base.
The Spearhead and Koln sign were downloaded black and white pic colored with the Paint program.

I just went back and looked again. I noticed more of the little details like how each one of the Infantry weapons have slings. The way each figure is painted is also very realistic, as is how the rubble from the demolished buildings looks. Fantastic in all areas. You nailed it buddy... Looks great.
I agree w/Louis, then where did you get all the big/little/tiny rocks.wow.sure looks realistic!
Thanks, Rodney. The building rubble was made with plaster-paris and then crumbled to look like destroyed building painted with Woodland Scenic Earth Color paint.

Gary, very well done dio, I also like your description of the materials used to make items in the scene. That will help when I finally get around building mine up for the vehicles I have built up, now just getting to start on the diorama itself I know will be an endeavour. This is a great motivator.
Hey, Chuck. Thanks! I like doing dios but they are "long-term" projects. I always look at each aspect of the build as sub-assemblies to the overall build. Again, glad you liked this one.

Absolutely stunning. Watching this come together has been a complete joy! I'm going to jump a plane and force you to give me figure painting lessons once this pandemic passes! Just masterful!
