1/48 Hasegawa Aichi B7A2 (Grace) Attack Bomber

This was the subject I built for the "Empire of Japan" group build. It was a Japanese dive bomber/torpedo aircraft with a gull wing configuration. I built it as the torpedo version from the 752nd Naval Flying Group. Overall this is a nice kit to build. Only thing I would like to note is the insignias are two parts. You really cannot see the green as it is identical the the Tamiya paint but I recommend placing the first part down then after it is dried apply the second part. They flatten out a lot better if you do them apart instead of at the same time. The fit and details are very good. You can see all the details and build photos in the group build section at https://imodeler.com/groups/the-empire-of-japan-1919-1946/forum/topic/148-hasegawa-aichi-b7a2-ryusei-kai-grace/?topic_page=1&num=15

  1. That is an excellent model, David, of a gorgeous plane. Again, congratulations from the headlines section this time!

  2. Great build of an elegant airframe.

  3. Nice work on an unusual plane!

  4. Very nice Dave, this GB is really showing some rarely seen Japanese aircraft. Good thing these planes showed up a bit too late in the war. Most of the carriers were out of action by this time. These were very good planes and quite capable. Upgrading from the Kate, these along with the Judy's and Jill's would've given the US Navy fits. I have one of these in the stash. Don't thing i will get to it with a Jill and Judy already planned. Dave, thanks for sharing.

  5. Nice David! I didn't know this was available in 1/48. Thanks, one will look nice parked next to my Helldiver. One of the best looking Japanese planes from the war. (At least to me, but I like big burly aircraft!) Great job on it! I see the torpedo is offset to one side to clear the oil cooler, could it carry a second on the other side as well?

    • No, there is a bomb sight on the other side.

  6. This is a beautiful plane David. It turned out very nice and I’m sure it will look great parked next to your other builds. I wanted to thank you again for participating in our Empire of Japan group build. People like you are making it a smashing success. I was honored that you went out there and purchased this kit so you could participate. You couldn’t have picked a better subject. Well done my friend and a great big “liked”.

    • Thanks Again! Yes it does look good next to the other Japanese Aircraft I have built. LOL

  9. Nice build of a very nice looking plane!

  10. Another great build! Nicely done.

  11. Looks nice David. I did my Grace in trainer colors to test a new weathering technique, but I may need to get another one!
