!/48 Hasegawa KI-43-II Hayabusa (Oscar)

Here is an older build I did on the -II. The instrument panel was part of the Eduard photo etch set. The kit engine I added the push rods to the engine. The camouflage was done by thinning the paint in an aluminum dish and using various sized pieces of foam to create the mottled effect. The scheme came out very well. You can see all the build photos in my build log at https://davidsscalemodels.com/build-log/1-48-ki-43-ii-hayabusa-oscar/

  1. David: The sponge method that you used really came out great; it's very convincing. Good job!

  2. Very nice build, the engine is a model in its own! The mottling also came out nicely, I wonder whether the hairspray technique armor modelers use often could work as well. Liked!

  6. Great job, David. I loved that foam technique. Couldn't imagine it would come out so great. "Adopted" by me already. That engine is a masterpiece.
