Airfix 1/72 Boulton Paul Defiant Mk1

May 14, 2020 · in Aviation · · 18 · 2.8K

Hi There,

This was purchased in a well-known Edinburgh model shop over a year ago and Innis picked it, so while I was off work awaiting a Covid-19 test result I thought it was about time it was built.
Innis decided it would be wheels up...Yeeeehah... and would be going on his roof in formation with the .

Painted with Colourcoats Night Bomber Black, Interior Grey Green and RAF Yellow.
The underside "aerials" had to be replaced with brass tubing as the got very broken.

As always thanks for looking

Cheers,
Alistair

  1. Very nice, these B-P's were nice planes but a bit underpowered for the era as I read somewhere. I like the dark color!

  2. Very nicely done! The panel wash on the black really sets it off.

  3. Great work! I built one awhile ago, the kits' a real gem.

  4. Beautiful plane and equal build.
Very well done, specially since it is 1/72.

  5. Great model of a great plane, Alistair. Beautiful paintjob. Can imagine it in formation with the Lancaster.
    All the best!

  6. Nicely done Alistair.

  7. That's a gorgeous model. I built the original and did a lot of work to make it look like a Defiant. Well done sir.
