Fouga CM.170 Magister

May 2, 2020 · in Aviation · · 17 · 2.3K

, 2 kits in 1 package. Build straight from the box using kit decals too. Opted for the French version. No particular issues except a fiddly nose wheel gear assembly and those photo etched arms for control surfaces which I kept hitting and bending. Otherwise a nice one from kinetic.

  1. Love your paintwork. Really nice result here.

  2. Beautiful result. As Tom @tcinla said, painting is great.
    All the best!

  3. Very realistic rendition. Bravo!

How did you realize the subtil shades of metal colours, especially on wings?

    • Thank you. Its basically a gloss black base, filled mostly the inside of panels with alclad aluminium leaving the panels lines darker followed by a thinned over spray of aluminium building up the desired effect.

  4. just gorgeous

  5. Nicely done, nice scheme.

  6. Love your Fouga Magister, Joseph. First class job on the metal finish. The day glow paneling and detail work on the nose add an element of interest and realism that makes this model a real eye-catcher. Have you seen the movie The Siege of Jadotville? There is a sequence when the group of besieged Irish Peace Keepers who are the heroes of the movie are attacked by a Magister. Not sure if this is CGI or a real plane, but it is the only movie footage of this aircraft in action that I have seen.

  7. A real beauty - paintwork is fantastic. Well done!
