Tamiya 1/12 YAMAHA YZF-R1M.

May 29, 2020 · in Automotive · · 6 · 2.3K

This is my YZF-R1M.

Built almost straight from the box using Mr Color and Tamiya lacquer paints.

The metallic effects are Alclad but with a couple of coats of Mr Color clear so it looks like automotive lacquer.

I lost the suspension spring to the carpet monster so I had to make my own, which I reckon came out better anyway.

I also used the kit forks as I couldn't get the anodised update parts, with careful painting they came out fine though.

I also drilled out the holes in the brake discs, very tedious but we'll worth the effort.

    Congratulations!

  3. Although I'm not into building motorcycles, I do drive them however, I have to say that this one looks beautiful.
Even difficult to distinguish from a showroom model.

  4. Great build, those 1/12 Tamiya kits are the business.

  5. Nice bike!
The R1 is my lucky bike, I've never crashed one!
It's good to see this kit getting popular.
