Tamiya Brabham Martini BT44B - 1/12

This is an amazing kit, especially considering it was released 45 years ago. The fit is nearly perfect which is saying something given the complexity of the kit. There are in excess of 300 parts which do have a fair amount of seam lines to clean up and a few sink marks. The instructions are fairly clear but there is a lack of color call outs. The kit comes with black and clear tubing for detailing but I replaced them with narrower tubing that look more to scale to me. The kit decals were unusable, disintegrating when I tried to use them. I’ve experienced this with many old Tamiya automotive kits - likely a function of age rather than quality.
This was a four week project for me but I would expect it would have taken perhaps twice as long if it were not for the Covid 19 lockdown.

Beautiful job. I have wanted/desired that kit for many years...Love the simple white livery with Martini trim. Excellent modelling.
Wow I have lived half a life behind one of these kits and just a couple of months ago I saw one in an Andorran store, but I couldn't wait for it to open.

I built this same kit years ago, and I remember it being a really good kit. Looks great, nicely done.
Really nice job. I built the same model back around 1980 and displayed it on a bookshelf in my office at work. The decals weren't an issue (of course, the model was new back then). It was a great kit and you did a fine job with it.
I have this kit in my stash and your build has inspired me to get started once my university semester is over and I have some more spare time!
