Hi everyone!

Those are the pics from my second "quick visit" at the Museuma at Tatoi AFB.

Saw some interesting subjects there, including a Mirage F-1, a nicelly decorated anniversary RF-4, a TF-104G, another rare TF-102 in SEA camo, an Albatross and an equally rare Agusta Bell 47J (purchased in 1964, to be used exclusively by the former King of Greece. Its use was extremely limited. It stayed operational until 1985).

Some other very interesting subjects, including a Noratlas, are located at a nearby museum location and plan to pay another visit there soon.

Hope you like them.

Happy modelling!

  1. What a nice place to be Spiros.
F5 and F104, both types made me enthusiastic for aviation during my childhood.

  2. Hey Spiros , I remember being on a busy beach on Crete around 1987 or 88 packed with bikini clad females when two Corsairs just like the one you showed here cruised over low and slow and banked over for a good view before heading out to sea and then coming back along the sea front this time low and very fast , cool or what ?

  3. Looks like a very nice museum!

  4. Aegeian blue/white/Aegeian blue, the most beautiful color combination in the world! Thanks for sharing Spiros!

    • We even had some F-4Es painted like that Michel @michel-verschuere!

  7. Hello Spiros ! @fiveten
These are some amazing photos you posted for our enjoyment. Thank you for taking the time to do it. You are very fortunate to have had access to such a nice museum.

Do you have any more photos of the German searchlight ? My friends did a static restoration on one here in the US. Here's the generator unit that powered the search lights.

They also cleaned and painted a German 88MM Flak gun. Here you can see it after it was blasted to bare metal. It was disabled with the barrel plugged and the breach was welded shut.
Once it was done it looked brand new. You can just barely see the searchlight in the rear upper corner of this picture

I have tremendously enjoyed these series of pictures you posted. If you happen to stop by there again, can you take some more photos of the Curtiss SB2C-5 Helldiver, the F-86 Sabre and the MiG-15 for me ? I would greatly appreciate that...Please send me a PM if you don't mind...
Thanks again my friend... Take care and stay safe.

    • Thanks Louis @lgardner !
Glad you like them! It is a joy for me to take and share those.
I will be more than happy to take all those you asked the soonest and post them to you.
By the way, two Erikkson Skycranes Firefighters are currently stationed here. I'll take pics of them as well.
I love your friends static restoration!

  8. Thanks Allan @kalamazoo!
(Don't know why but couldn't post my comment under the "Reply" after your comment).
    All the best, my friend!

  9. Looks like the Mirage F1 is ready for flight, and I do not think I have ever seen a TF-102 before.
    Great photos.
