1/72 Airfix Swift FR.5

July 1, 2020 · in Aviation · · 8 · 1.5K

Built straight out of the box. As reported everywhere, fitting the cockpit and front undercarriage bay needs some cutting and modifying. Apart from that, the build goes on very smoothly. Colours are as instructed by with their Humbrol range.

  1. That's a nice model, Gordon.
    OOB looks perfect.
    I like the colours too!

  2. Great build.
A not so common but yet beautiful aircraft.
    Well done.

  3. Those early jets are just so cool!

  4. This is a very nice kit, and you have definitely made the most of it. Be cool if Airfix would upscale this one.

  5. Nice work! I agree with Tom. I’d like to see this in 1/48. Call me a heretic but I think the Swift looked a lot better then the Hunter, and that’s what counts for my display shelves.

  6. Nice work Gordon, I recently found this kit on the shelf at a local hobby shop and scooped it up.
Fantastic build, great looking model and nice photos as usual.

  7. Nicely done - love these early jets.
