Argentine Army FWD truck

July 24, 2020 · in Armor · · 6 · 1.4K

Greetings to all forum members.

On this occasion I wanted to show you this project. It is the FWD truck model B from Zvezda, in . The level of detailing and fitting of the parts is very good. It seemed to me, for its quality, the best kit of Zvezda of the ones I assembled until now.

I decided to make one of the first trucks of the Argentinean Army. With the end of the WWI, the motorization of the Army began. At the beginning of the 1920s, Citroen, Ford TT model trucks and a good amount of FWDs were bought, among others.

They were used to transport troops and as artillery tractors.

At some point in the late 1920s, they were painted in a three-color scheme: sand, dark green and earth. This scheme, after a few years, was replaced by a unicolor scheme. Over the years, the solid wheels were replaced by conventional tires, which extended their life until the late 1930s, when they were replaced by a large number of new trucks, some imported and others of indigenous production.

I decided on the tricolor scheme. I used AK and Vallejo acrylics. For wethering I used MIG washes and Vallejo pigments, Castlle Art and graphite.

I hope you like it. Greetings to all forum members.

    A rare subject!
Magnificent assembly, painting, historical background and photo coverage of the building sequence (meaning: everything is magnificent!).
