Revell 1144 HMCS Snowberry

July 1, 2020 · in Ships · 16 · 3.1K

This is the first model I've built for more years than I care to think about. Revell 1144 Snowberry with Eduard detail sets to remind me how infuriating I used to find photo etched parts.
95% complete and needs it's display base. Thoroughly enjoyed the build and would recommend giving this kit a go.

  1. Super job, John. I love the weathering; very authentic. I always thought this would be an interesting kit to build. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

    Scott

  2. Fantastic work, John.
    A joy to watch!
Waiting for your finishing touches and the display base!

  3. She looks like she has been battling rough seas on the Atlantic for a while. Like the colours a lot. Good job.

  4. Super job! and welcome aboard!

  5. very nice - I've got one in the stash and I'm thinking about building it soon - even more likely after seeing yours!

  6. Flower Class ships are very cool, especially with this camouflage. I also wrestle with photoetch, especially railings. Great job!

  7. Looks great! Happy Canada Day! ?

  8. Well, long time away from the hobby and your result shows that it IS "like riding a bicycle."

Nice work and the detail is looking good.

  9. Nice work. It’s difficult to properly weather a white scheme. Well done.

  10. Excellent work on an under appreciated (in the model world) but critical weapon in the Battle of the Atlantic.

  11. Outstanding build ! I got one staring at me for the last 3 yrs. Maybe I should go and " talk " to her . Love your weathering ! Hope you and your loved ones are well ! Cheers, Tony

  12. Hi, I am about to embark on this voyage myself. I am trying to figure out what paints to use. I like Tamiya and Valiejo. What did you use.

  13. Also, think seriously about using some photo etch. I used the Eduard set. The kit railings are way overscale and the kit depth charge racks are garbage.
