Tamiya Panzer III

August 3, 2020 · in Armor · · 8 · 2.6K

I had so much fun doing the Monogram Panzer IV, I decided to do a second armor project and chose the Ausf. L. This one is out of the box and as every Tamiya armor kit I've done, it was very enjoyable. Good detail and not overly complicated. Maybe I should trade some of those 400-500 part 1/35 armor kits for some more 1/48 Tamiyas.

  1. Looks great, Scott (@guitarhack5), especially in 1/48. I don't build a lot of armor, but every now and then I get the urge to build a tank from Revell, or Monogram, or Tamiya. And my favorites are either a Panzer III or IV. Besides, those flashy kits get their high parts count from the 7000 pieces that make up the tracks.

    • Thanks George. I think the Tamiya 1/48 armor kits are a great way for “non-armor” guys to build a nice model. Easy assembly yet good detail, in a good size package.

  2. I also love these Tamiya 1/48 kits, even if they don't have individual track links. I've had my eye on this one for some time. Great work on the painting! You should do more armor. It good for the soul.

  3. I love this Tamiya kit too, Scott.

  4. I hear you on this Scott, you’re motivating me in trying the dark side 🙂 and at my favorite scale... could be a good option in between some wings. I have the Opel. Blitz truck and the Hanomag somewhere in the stash

  5. Nice work! Me not doing much armor, 1/48th is more manageable shelf wise.

  6. 🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
Very nice work on this Panzer model Scott. Love those Monogram kits.
When can we expect a diorama with this model ? , it is already weathered and looks the part.

  7. Nice job on the Mk. IV Ausf. L. I love Tamiya 1/48 armor.
