Vintage Revell 1/45 scale Ford Consul De Luxe

Here is my tribute to the 1/45 scale Ford Consul De Luxe. This is following my goal to build and/or restore some old models that could bring me some good memories. I acquired this model from Andrew Burford (Leicester - England), through Facebook a few years ago. I had built my first one in 1968/1969, as a gift from my brother-in-law.

The kit was first released in 1959 by Revell Great Britain, and it was part of the famous and cheap Cadet Series. The same mold was injected in Brazil by A. Kikoler, in the 1960s. As all that series models it is very simple but with good proportions and authentic details, despite its unusual scale. I never got to see a real car here in Brazil, but many units were imported from GB.

The kit was built largely out-of-box with some few exceptions.

Building and finishing:
Tamiya white putty.
Automotive polyester primer and all colors.
Clear parts made of PVC plastic sheet.
Acrilex clear coat.
Oil for a light shading and
A 1/43 scale die-cast car case.

Finally another vintage model in my collection, which brings great memories of my childhood and of that golden era of Revell in Brazil.

P.S.:
I had forgotten to install the wipers made of scratch. So I attached the new last 2 pictures.

  1. Nicely done! Am I reading it right, that it is about 10 inches long?
