1/35 Hobbyboss AU-F1 on a T-72 chassis

September 13, 2020 · in Armor · · 4 · 1.4K

My recently completed GCT AU-F1 on a T-72 chassis.

This was mainly an OOB with only the barrel being an aftermarket metal one.

Paint used is Vallejo Model Color No 128: 70.824 German Cam Orange Ochre. Last 2 pics are in natural light and the other 5 I used the flash.

Tracks done by putting a grey primer on then painting with Humbrol Rust Wash and high lighted with Vallejo Model Color 70.865 Oily Steel.

There is little weathering and no decals as this was built as a demo vehicle to show the Indian Army, but they never placed any orders.

  1. Interesting looking armor, Phillip (@phillipe50). You get some really interesting builds from these "one off" demonstrators. Nicely done.

  2. Awesome looking vehicle! looks great.

  3. Indeed, as George @gbalir pointed out, this is a beautifully built "one off" demonstrator, Phllip.
The tracks painting is very interesting and I might try it as soon I start building armor, which is not that far away!

    • Many thanks. The tracks were first undercaoted in grey, then painted blck. Where the road wheels meet the track I taped off a black strip on both sides of the center teeth. Then I used Vallejo dark brown, coated this with /humbrol Rust was and finally dry brushed any high points either black grey for pads or oily steel for metal.
