  1. Darren, as a less frequent visitor to the main boards here, now, I am really glad I looked in tonight! This is absolutely stunning - the paint job is faultless - the panel lines are so crisp, and the canopy - fit and finish are pretty much flawless too. Great subject; great execution and wonderful photography! Congratulations, Darren!

  2. TOP, top work! congratulations on a flawless build

  3. Fantastic, Darren.
You created a very fine looking P47.

  4. A beautiful Jug. Really interesting with those diminutive invasion stripes - I assume that was a French version to mimic the US stripes, though to different specs.

  5. Beautiful work and a great result, Darren.

Allow me to pass on a bit of "obscure information" I got when I interviewed Dick Hewitt, squadron maintenance officer in the 78th Fighter Group, regarding "field repaints" of P-47s. There's photo evidence of the French P-47s being delivered in NMF, so this is a field repaint, as was the 78th's P-47 bubbletops. Anyway, field repaints were done with the flaps up, thus the leading edge of the flap remains NMF. The overall-OD flaps on P-47s is from production line paint jobs, where the flaps were not attached until they had been painted.

Anyway, not a complaint about this nice-looking model, just information for "next time."
