bridge over calm waters

September 16, 2020 · in Ships · 7 · 1.7K

I chose this title for a composition about a beautiful ship like the Uss Virginia. The ship appears simple and is pleasant to assemble, although with minor difficulties. The Kit is from Ciberhobby and accompanies a small set of photoetches, although different ones have been used for the radars and railings. Small improvements have been made to chains, antennas and boats. The paints used have been Humbrol in the USN scheme. The little fishing boat is scracht. The bridge was made with copper wire, plasticard and patience. I took as a model an existing bridge in Spain, called Hacho Brigde and its construction was commissioned to the cabinet of Gustave Eiffel. This bridge was about to disappear but the initiative of the people has been able to save it. There is more data on Wikipedia.

  1. Manuel, great work on the bridge/seascape and the ship alike. These CGNs are my favorite among USN cruisers, and you've made it come to life. I love the signals, and the fishing boat really helps to set the scale. Your build really makes me want to finish fitting mine out!

  2. Very nice work and a great result.

  4. Beautiful work! The ship looks so modern It's had to believe it's not in service any more.
