Yugoslav partisan Morane Saulnier MS-406 1/72 Heller

September 24, 2020 · in Aviation · · 6 · 1.7K

Hi all

Finally finished this ancient model . About the model itself, which is well known, I will not bother too much, although many things are not as they should be (empty cabin, over sized parts ...), it still looks much better to me than for example Hobby Boss Model. Despite better AZ, Special Hobby's and others waiting to be done at my stash, I couldn't skip this one.
What a done additionally: fully made new interior that is barely visible from the outside (which is why I cut the clear parts to show the cabin open). Added scratch built coller. Closed gear bay openings, replaced antenna parts, machine guns, rear tail slide, ... etc ...

Model represent partisans plane, captured from Croats (NDH) at Zaluzani airport near Banja Luka 1944. Plane retained Luftwaffe colors, and only Croat coat of arms are repainted with red stars..

The colors are AK Real Colors, I am pleased with them, weathered with artistic oils and pastels ... and that would be all. I hope you like it.

Regards Djordje

  1. Nice save on the cockpit and good work overall. I didn't know these airplanes managed to get to Croatia. Interesting history.

  2. Nice build and scheme, Djordje.
You did a great job on detailing the cockpit.

  3. Love it! It has all my favorite attributes of a great model project: 1/72 scale, and old kit, some nice updating and details, an unusual scheme for the subject, and a great finishing job with paint and weathering. Fantastic!

  4. I love this unusual paint scheme, Djordje (@djordjestarcevic). Well done getting all of this detail in a really small kit. I also use AK Real Colors and really like them.

  5. 🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
A rarely seen aircraft yet so well done.
The paint work is very eye catching and your work on the cockpit really pops out.
    Nice work Djordje.
